SBI Green Marathon Season 6 will take place in Guwahati, promoting sustainability thru athletics

The SBI Green Marathon Season 6 took place in Guwahati, attracting over 4,000 participants to the Sarusajai Sports Complex, and continued its message of “Run for a Greener India.” The event, following runs in cities like Lucknow and Chandigarh, featured a scenic backdrop with Guwahati’s hills and the Brahmaputra river, highlighting the region’s dedication to fitness and environmental consciousness. Key dignitaries, including SBI officials, reinforced the bank’s commitment to sustainability. The marathon promoted eco-friendly practices with organic T-shirts, plantable BIBs, and reusable cloth bags, ensuring a zero-waste experience, while waste management partner Skrap managed recycling efforts. Participants competed in three categories: 5K, 10K, and the AIMS-certified 21K half marathon, attracting a diverse group from seasoned runners to first-timers. The event successfully showcased Guwahati’s commitment to sustainability and community involvement, as it continues its tour across 17 cities, inspiring citizens toward a cleaner future.
