Drugs worth Rs 9 crore were seized from a vehicle in Assam’s Cachar district, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
A vehicle coming from Mizoram was intercepted on the Silchar-Aizawl bypass, and during a search, 30,000 Yaba tablets were seized, he said.
Yaba, meaning ‘crazy medicine’ in Thai, is illegal in the country as it contains methamphetamine, a Schedule II substance under the Controlled Substances Act, and caffeine.
