On the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, alongside its partner organizations, hosted a dynamic yoga camp at Kaushal Bhawan, New Delhi, starting at 6:00 AM. This event, themed “Yoga for Self and Society,” underscored the transformative impact of yoga on individual health and societal well-being.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, commemorated the day by announcing a significant achievement: more than 1.35 lakh yoga trainers have been trained and certified under the Skill India Mission. This milestone highlights the government’s commitment to promoting wellness and professional development across the nation.Uttar Pradesh leads the states with 31,018 certified trainers, followed closely by Tamil Nadu with 30,952 and Maharashtra with 26,743. These numbers reflect a growing demand for skilled health and wellness professionals nationwide.
Secretary of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, emphasized the alignment of yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a healthy and harmonious society. He highlighted the increasing popularity of MSDE’s courses, which include comprehensive training in yoga and fitness.
