In a fervent address at an election rally in Karimganj, Sarbananda Sonowal, the BJP MP candidate from Dibrugarh, asserted that the Congress party holds no moral authority to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Sonowal exuded confidence in BJP’s sweeping victory, attributing it to the failures of Congress to fulfill its promises over the past six decades. “Congress has no moral right to participate in the LS polls,” declared Sonowal amidst cheers from the crowd. He emphasized the stark disparity in achievements between the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the long-standing Congress rule. Sonowal praised Modi’s leadership, crediting the transformative changes witnessed in just a decade, surpassing the cumulative progress made by Congress administrations.
Addressing the media, Sonowal highlighted the remarkable progress witnessed in the Barak Valley, a region historically neglected by Congress governments. He commended the comprehensive development initiatives undertaken by the BJP government, including infrastructure enhancements and the establishment of a medical college. Sonowal expressed firm belief in the victory of BJP candidates Kripanath Mallah and Parimal Suklabaidya from Karimganj and Silchar respectively, citing the palpable enthusiasm and optimism among the people of Barak Valley.”I have witnessed the vigor and positivity among the people of Barak Valley,” remarked Sonowal. “
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on the region through various initiatives, such as roadway connectivity, medical colleges, and waterway projects, has propelled Barak Valley onto the global stage.” Sonowal criticized the historical neglect of Barak Valley by previous Congress administrations, asserting that their inaction disqualifies them from contesting the election on moral grounds. He confidently predicted BJP’s victory in two Barak Valley constituencies and anticipated a substantial win of 12 seats for BJP across Assam.
