Star Health expands home healthcare network to 100 locations, strengthens presence in Guwahati

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited (Star Health Insurance), India’s largest retail health insurer, has expanded its Home Health Care (HHC) services to 100 locations across India, making it the country’s largest provider of doorstep medical care. The initiative, launched in July 2023, now covers over 85% of Star Health’s customer base, ensuring cashless, at-home treatment within three hours, with no out-of-pocket expenses.

Anand Roy, MD & CEO, Star Health Insurance, said, “Health insurance should be more than financial coverage—it should provide direct access to quality healthcare. By eliminating logistical barriers and high hospitalization costs, we are bringing care to customers’ doorsteps.” The service covers conditions like viral fever, dengue, gastroenteritis, and respiratory infections, with partnerships involving Care24, Portea, Argala, Athulya, and Apollo.

Guwahati stands to benefit significantly from this expansion. The city’s growing demand for accessible healthcare solutions aligns with the program, ensuring timely medical care while reducing hospital overcrowding. With rapid urbanization and increasing healthcare costs, Star Health’s initiative is expected to reshape the city’s home-care sector. The service has seen the highest adoption in Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune, treating over 15,000 patients. With its expanding reach, Star Health aims to redefine India’s health insurance landscape.
