Tata Power posts Rs 1,306 cr Q4 profit, bets big on Assam with Rs 30,000 cr green energy push

Tata Power has reported a robust Q4FY25 performance, clocking a 25% YoY rise in Profit After Tax (PAT) at ₹1,306 crore, on a revenue of ₹17,328 crore, up 7% YoY. EBITDA surged 14% to ₹3,829 crore. The company recorded its highest-ever annual revenue of ₹64,502 crore in FY25, while PAT before exceptional items rose 26% to ₹5,197 crore—crossing the ₹5,000 crore mark for the first time.

The rooftop solar business continued its dominance with over 1.5 lakh installations and a 3 GW installed base, achieving ₹100 crore PAT in Q4 and ₹209 crore in FY25. The company also reported a ₹4,000+ crore order book for third-party solar EPC projects. Its renewable manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu produced 3,291 MW of modules and 846 MW of cells.

Reinforcing its green energy leadership, Tata Power has committed ₹30,000 crore to Assam’s clean energy projects, signing an MoU to develop up to 5,000 MW. The initiative will also generate 3,000 local jobs. In Guwahati, Tata Power’s expansion is expected to drive solar adoption among residential and commercial users, creating business opportunities for local vendors and energizing Assam’s rooftop solar ecosystem.
