The 53rd Dairoong Central Rongali Bihu celebration came to an end

A two-day program marked the conclusion of the 53rd Dairoong Central Rongali Bihu festival. Following the opening of the event’s main gate in the morning on April 21, there was a communal Bihu breakfast, ancestor tribute, floral tributes to Rajiv Sadiya’s image, and the raising of the Bihu flag. Various competitions were staged following this. Everyone’s attention was drawn to the cultural procession on April 22. The competition winners received certificates and cash awards at the open meeting at 6 PM.

Hira Haque, a well-known businessman and humanitarian activist from Dairoong, and Prakash Agarwala were then given the Dairoongporiya Samannay Award 2025. Twenty elderly residents received recognition for their services to Dairoong’s social life, culture, and education at the same event. Hemanta Saikia, Dhrubajyoti Bora, the chief secretary of the Social Development Forum, and social worker Anil Saikia were among the distinguished individuals who attended the occasion.

Pramod Phukan, the celebration president, presided over the ceremony, which was hosted by Manoj Bora. Dr. Kajal Saikia, Chief General Manager of Human Resources and other departments at Numaligarh Refinery, opened the cultural evening by praising the Dairoong Central Rongali Bihu celebration’s efforts to preserve the traditions and essence of Bihu culture, which enhance the Assamese national identity. Following local artists’ performances, well-known vocalist Gitanjali Das gave a musical performance to end the evening.
