National Award-winning and Padma Shri filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has begun production on his latest film, The Wives, in Mumbai. Known for his bold, realistic films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion, and Traffic Signal, Bhandarkar now turns his focus to Bollywood’s inner world.
The cast includes Sonali Kulkarni, Mouni Roy, Regina Cassandra, Rahul Bhatt, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa, and Freddy Daruwala. Speaking about the project, Bhandarkar said the film aims to reveal the hidden struggles and voices of women often overlooked in glamorous settings. This marks his second collaboration with producer Pranav Jain of P J Motion Pictures after their acclaimed film India Lockdown. Jain praised Bhandarkar’s storytelling and expressed pride in supporting a project that is both impactful and timely. Jointly produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P J Motion Pictures, The Wives promises to be a powerful social commentary.
