Thousands of protesters rallied in Karimganj today, organized by the Hindu Suraksha Bahini, to condemn the ongoing violence against minorities in Bangladesh. The demonstration was part of a broader “Bangladesh Chalo” campaign aimed at drawing attention to the plight of minorities across the border.
The rally began at Karimganj College and saw approximately a thousand participants marching through the city streets. Protesters carried placards and banners denouncing the violence inflicted upon minority communities in Bangladesh.
However, the protest encountered a significant hurdle at Santar Bazaar, where police had erected barricades to halt the march. This led to a temporary suspension of traffic on the national highway, causing a brief disruption for vehicles.
