Toyota launches innovative skill development program in Mizoram to empower youth

In a significant move to promote skill development and enhance employability, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), in collaboration with the Government of Mizoram and Zote Toyota, launched its 67th Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and the STAR Scholarship Initiative at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Aizawl. This initiative aims to empower youth, particularly from rural areas, by equipping them with hands-on skills that are highly sought after in the growing automotive sector.

The T-TEP program will focus on providing training in Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Diesel Mechanic trades, giving students a strong foundation in the latest automotive technologies. The STAR Scholarship Program, which offers financial support of up to ₹51,000 annually, will ensure that talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds have access to technical education.

In Guwahati, where the automotive market is rapidly expanding due to increasing vehicle sales and a growing demand for service professionals, TKM’s T-TEP program comes at a critical time. With more vehicles on the road, the city’s automotive sector is experiencing a need for skilled technicians. Graduates from this program will be well-equipped to meet the local market demand, creating new opportunities for employment and economic growth.
