Truecaller-Khyaal alliance sets new benchmark in senior citizen cyber safety

Truecaller, a leading global communications platform, has partnered with Khyaal, India’s foremost app for senior citizens, to tackle the growing threat of digital scams targeting the elderly. This strategic collaboration aims to combine technological protection with community-driven education, offering seniors a safer digital environment.

As part of the initiative, Khyaal members will receive a 50% discount on Truecaller Premium, which offers enhanced spam blocking and fraud detection features. The partnership will also introduce educational programs, including “New Scam Highlights,” “Spot the Scam” workshops, safety guidelines, and real-life success stories—all delivered via the Khyaal app and through on-ground awareness drives like the “50Above50” event.

In Guwahati, where smartphone usage among seniors has risen sharply in recent years, has seen a parallel increase in scam incidents—particularly fake insurance and healthcare calls. Local community leaders have welcomed the initiative, calling it a timely solution to restore digital trust among the elderly.

Truecaller CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala and Khyaal CEO Hemanshu Jain both emphasized the emotional and financial toll such scams take on seniors and underscored the partnership’s mission to empower and protect. Together, the firms are setting a precedent in technology-led social responsibility.
