Truecaller has teamed up with HDFC ERGO, India’s top general insurance company, to introduce Fraud Insurance. This initiative targets the rising threat of digital communication frauds in India.
According to a report from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, digital financial frauds have amounted to an astounding INR 1.25 lakh crore over the past three years. Truecaller’s new insurance product offers coverage up to INR 10,000 for Android and iOS users, seamlessly integrated into the app for yearly premium subscribers at no extra cost. The insurance activates instantly once users opt in, requiring no additional paperwork.Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Chief Product Officer and MD of Truecaller India, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “We’re thrilled to introduce Fraud Insurance, reinforcing our commitment to safeguarding our community against digital fraud.”
