Veeam Software, the Data and AI Trust Company, advanced its Bharat Cyber Suraksha mission by hosting the North-East Cyber Resilience & AI Transformation Summit in Guwahati, bringing together stakeholders from government, academia and industry.
At the summit, Veeam launched the “Bharat Cyber Suraksha – North-East Cyber Resilience & Digital Readiness Report 2025,” developed with the Northeast India Public Policy Forum. The report offers recommendations to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, protect citizen data, improve cloud and digital infrastructure, and ensure compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act and CERT-In norms. Citing Ministry of Home Affairs data, the company noted over 47,000 cyber incidents across the eight North-Eastern states, highlighting urgent need for region-specific resilience strategies.
Veeam exchanged Memorandums of Intent with Assam Science and Technology University, Assam Don Bosco University and Assam Down Town University to establish Cyber Resilience Centres of Excellence and introduce industry-aligned cybersecurity and AI programmes. The “Main Hoon Saksham” awareness drive was also launched with Women in Cloud and NxtGen to scale cyber and AI skilling.
With enterprises and public institutions accelerating digital adoption, Guwahati is emerging as a strategic technology hub. Demand for cyber-resilient infrastructure, AI-led security solutions and certified talent will rise sharply in Guwahati, creating opportunities for IT firms, startups and academic institutions aligned with the region’s digital growth agenda.
