Vodafone Idea (Vi) has introduced baggage protection for its postpaid international roaming customers in partnership with US-based Blue Ribbon Bags. This new service allows Vi postpaid users to receive compensation of ₹19,800 per bag if their luggage is lost or delayed beyond 96 hours, available for an additional ₹99. With international travel rebounding post-pandemic, baggage mishandling remains a major concern. A 2024 SITA report revealed that over 36 million bags were mishandled globally. Vi’s latest initiative aims to provide travelers with a safety net, ensuring peace of mind while traveling abroad.
Vi postpaid customers can opt for baggage protection while purchasing any international roaming pack. To avail of the service, users must register with Blue Ribbon Bags before their flight and report any baggage delay or loss within 24 hours of landing. If the baggage is not recovered within four days, compensation is provided with no further questions asked.Vi’s baggage protection is expected to benefit frequent flyers from Assam, providing added security for travelers departing from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
