A State-Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2026 was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Assam Legislative Assembly in Dispur, bringing together youth representatives from across the State. The two-day programme is being organized by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Assam, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS). It aims to encourage youth participation in democratic dialogue and public policy.
Participants who qualified through district-level competitions presented their views on the theme “Union Budget 2026: Strengthening the Indian Youth’s Path towards Viksit Bharat 2047.” The two-day event will select the top three participants to represent Assam at the National Level Youth Parliament in New Delhi.
The inaugural session was graced by Kausar Jamil Hilaly, Special Secretary to the Government of Assam, Sports and Youth Welfare Department; Pradip Handique, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat; D. Carthigueane, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati; Dinobondhu Saha, Joint Director, Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat); and Jangjilong, Youth Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati.
